The Studio
About Axis Studio
"Architecture is not the construction of buildings. It is the construction of a world in which human beings can fully flourish."
Axis Studio was founded with a simple but demanding ambition: to make buildings that matter. Buildings that are thoughtfully suited to their climate, their culture, and the lives lived within them. We work across every scale and typology, but our process is always the same — careful listening, rigorous design, and fearless execution.
Design Values
Honesty
We tell clients what a project costs before they commit. We tell them when a design is not working. Honesty is the foundation of trust.
Precision
We are obsessive about detail. Every dimension, every material, every junction is resolved before it reaches the contractor.
Rootedness
We design for Pakistan's climate, its culture, and its cities. We are not importing foreign aesthetics — we are developing a local architectural language.
Endurance
We design buildings to last. Not just physically, but culturally — buildings that will be loved by the people who use them, long after we are done.
The Team
Ar. Muhammad Mashood Chohan
Founder & Principal Architect
Mashood Chohan is the founder of Axis Studio, a Karachi-based architecture and interior design practice. His thesis project — a LEED-certified mixed-use development for the Marwari community — earned recognition for its integration of passive design and social urbanism. He has since led the studio across a broad typological range: high-rise residential towers, heritage-sensitive hospitality design, civic public space, and luxury interiors. He believes architecture is most powerful when it is simultaneously beautiful and deeply rooted in place.
LinkedInThe Design Team
Architects, Designers & Urbanists
Axis Studio is home to a growing team of architects, interior designers, and urban planners. Working closely with the principal, each team member brings rigorous training and a shared commitment to craft — whether developing a complex technical detail, sourcing a rare material, or coordinating the consultants on a large commercial project. Individual profiles will be published here shortly.
